That is one amazing story (or hint of a story) about the couple loving each other through the SRS of one of the partners. You really are one of my dharma teachers, Ms. L. -- you and other Buddhas gently tell me what sweet rewards non-attachment can bring. These days I actually practice compassionate non-attached love for my loved ones by imagining that they are transsexual and how I would continue to be in positive relationship with them if they shared this with me! It's a great chance to practice truly seeing another, and letting go of assumptions. Of course it's not really happening, so it's only an exercise, but it's bound to happen someday, and when that day comes I want to be part of a loving world for those dear to me, rather than one more cold hard thing they have to give up. I am making an affectionate wai toward you right now (but I think you may be smiling at my deep seriousness too!)
