the only way i've found to not eat that stuff is to not keep it in the house. the concept of delivery makes it that much harder. how about walking today? if it's cold, go to a superstore & walk the aisles even if you don't buy anything. heard "rum and coca cola" on the radio today and thought of you :)

Every once in a while you have to let go. Indulgence is good on occasion, I have the same problem myself. Just take the negative feelings you're having toward yourself and use them to keep on your healthier diet in the future. Don't beat yourself up too much and don't get discouraged. We ALL have our tough days!

You've said the magic words. Dominos delivery. I've spent most of my life fat. If I binge, I make sure to drink 1/2 gallon of water and 8oz of a soy protein shake the next day, avoid carbs for 24 hours, and keep my heart rate up for about 1/2 an hour a day. It usually prevents new blubber from forming due to the binge, and sometimes I even lose a few extra pounds. I guess our metabolisms must be similar. I too can put on a pound or two the day following a binge. Also, check out this book called Eat Right 4 Your Type. It's all about this new theory involving your blood type and your diet. It is working for me, and nothing else has. Much Love!

I freely admit I would probably do the same thing, wolf down a few pieces and some of those yummy cinnamon things but I cannot. I have a teenage son that inhales anything remotely leftover at the house. He'd have that pizza and dots gone in 20 minutes.

What I try to do when I binge or want to binge is to find the most compassionate thing and do that. Sometimes that means eating everything and anything I want and refusing to give in to the anti-pleasure forces at work in this world. Good health is important, but it's going to start with self-love.

Oh honey, I don't know. I do it too, although for some reason I don't seem to suffer in the heart for it the way you are suffering. No suggestions for ya, but I send my affection and sympathy. It's hard feeling bad, isn't it? (For that matter, sometimes it's hard feeling good -- *feeling* can just be a bitch sometimes!)

A used to be Pizza Craver!!!!!!! - 2003-03-07 20:41:08
It sounds strange but i swear if you try it- Many many people who crave and overeat Wheat are actually Allergic to it. It produces a natural opiate (sp?) response in your body. It takes several weeks of the food being out of your system to stop craving it. Try rice bread maybe, Many people with wheat allergies or food allergies in general are overweight until they get rid of the food. Research it online, it really can help! Also the skin prick/ allergy tests aren't all that accurate and blookd ones only count immediate reactions- some food allergies take longer

I have a real problem with eating. Knowing when to stop that is. Sometimes I eat myself sick without even realizing it. For me its usually an emotional thing. And when I am bored, or unhappy, or lonely, or whatever, I crave things that are not good for me, and then eat and eat and eat. It really sucks and I suffer for it the next day.

It has been my experience, that if you are trying to lose weight, you have to have a plan that is not so drastic. When I wrestled, I struggled to stay in my weight class and ate a very rigorous and disgustingly healthy diet, but I always allowed Sunday as a cheat day. A cheat day meant I ate a good solid breakfast, but for dinner on Sunday night I could have whatever I wanted. Most of my Sunday nights were feast of mac and cheese and butter pecan ice cream! Good luck on your diet, but don't beat yourself up, just keep looking forward. If your body gets too adjusted to a low calorie diet it starts eating (metabolizing) muscle, so a cheat day actually has a positive benefit as well. :-)
