Grats to you on keeping up your check ups! But it made me wonder about you chances of breast cancer. Does it increase with the hormones or is it the same as any woman making the hormones? Sorry of that's too personal but with my history I worry about that.

I'm on hormone replacements to keep my hormone levels in the normal female range. Since I've produced breast tissue of my own, I'm at the same risk of breast cancer as any other woman. The upide is, however, that since my breast tissue is, shall we say 'newer'? I think my risk factor is probably closer to that of a teen-ager or a young woman in her twenties.

One piece of advice on the Mammogram. I've had breast cancer a couple of times and been undergoing mammograms every six months for years now. Take deep breaths and think happy thoughts and it's not so bad at all regardless of any horror stories you may have heard. Good luck.

MsLeslie, In regards to the mamogram; tell your Doctor you want a valium or 2 prior to having it done. If they try to poo poo you and you have a male Doctor, just tell him to visualize having his testicle squeezed and he'll write you a prescription right away. If it's a Female Doctor, geez, she'll probably just tell you to suck it up =~\
