Ms Leslie raises her head off the pillow for a minute
I�m coming back to life� I really am. Yesterday, I actually got out of bed long enough to go to Shoney�s for breakfast. I cam home and collapsed again, but then got up in the afternoon and went to the grocery store for food. Today I�m going to do some laundry with whatever energy I have. Every day a little better. Every day a little stronger.
Some of my family are really incredible. I have to remember to appreciate them. My Nephew Todd is one. Just a year out of high school, he�s standing right on the threshold between manhood and what comes before.
Todd made a special effort to come see me before I left for Thailand. I was stunned to realize that he had read all of my diary and a great deal of other material on the web about transsexualism. He had some really insightful and detailed questions for me. It was obvious that he cared for me, was worried about me, and was very interested in understanding what I was going through. Again, when I came home after the operation, he turned up to see me�� with flowers! Next to Dr Suporn, who had flowers in my room after the operation, that makes Todd the first person ever to bring me flowers, as far as I can remember, and for sure, the first to bring them to me as a woman.
I guess we bonded when I was staying in California. We shared a day trip to Tijuana for my one and only smuggling venture to get an extra month�s supply of hormones. On that trip, we had a great, scary and exciting time. Later, I helped him with a little advice to fix his truck. In the meantime, I think we came to care about each other. He�s a great kid in the act of becoming a good man. I appreciate him.
There�s more. I�ll try to write about them tomorrow. Also�� my fish Ornery. Life is good for him these days too. Very good. I�ll write when I get a little more strength.
